SNOWED IN

Just a quick update as to how life has been looking lately. The end of January has very quickly acquired a "snowed in" theme for me. At first it was okay, but people, there's only so much netflix (aka Friends) that one can watch. I'm someone who really enjoys getting out and DOING things... and well... the snow is keeping me glued to the couch. Blah. Seriously thinking of moving to California.

On a lighter note, I'm turning 24 this weekend! Moving on up. I'm escaping to The Dean Hotel in Providence, RI tomorrow and Sunday, so I'm very much looking forward to that. Providence has some really cool spots. ~~Aquarius~~

YOUR ROUTINE

It's been about 16 weeks now since I switched to a natural skincare routine and I can honestly say that my skin has been so so so much better. Believe me. It's not perfect, but it's the best I've seen it. Moving to Boston led me to discover Follain, a self declared "healthy beauty store." Not gunna lie, it's where I go to get the majority of my products these days. I also LOVE Cold spring Apothecary back home! I'm not 100% natural with my routine YET, but it would be nice to get there some day.

First thing's first! Two (small) but effective changes we've made recently in our bathroom. 1. Turkish bath towels over 'normal' towels and 2. Eucalyptus hanging in the shower. Both make a difference, folks.

1. Peppermint hand soap (clean hands are important!) Follain lets you bring in their reusable bottle (the one pictured above) and try their rotating scents of hand soap whenever you need to! This one is my favorite so far.
2. SW Basics Toner. This. stuff. is. amazing. It's my holy grail product. My favorite product.
3. Lulu Organics Jasmine scented hair powder. If you like jasmine, you'll love this one. Dry shampoo has saved me... a lot
4. Jamela argan oil as a facial moisturizer. Never would I have thought that I'd be using an oil as my moisturizer. This stuff is super calming and super effective.
Recent purchases! Indie Lee's blemish lotion and facial oil. Sadly, Follain was out of the Jamela argan oil that I usually use, but I'm always up to try something new so I opted for this one. It's a little too early to make set opinions on these guys.

Aesop is great- who doesn't love their stuff? I've tried the fabulous face cleanser and liked it. Not sure if it's worth the money to buy again. AAAAAND this rosemary mint body lotion from Apotheke! It's a good one, guys!
At last, this citrus & ginger sea salt spray for your hair from Cold Spring Apothecary. It smells heavenly. It lingers. It's great. My boyfriend uses the apothecary's citrus wood pomade for his hair and it smells equally amazing. Juniper Ridge body wash is also another manly favorite (although I use it too sometimes)!

This post was partially inspired by Bleubird's vanity project. Mostly because I think everyone likes reading about and discovering new products from time to time.

2015

It's 2015 and that means a new year. A new you. And a time to reflect. Big steps. Small steps. Basically, a blank slate.
NYE was spent at two of my college roommate's apartment in Long Island City. My fondest memory of the entire night was going up to the roof at midnight with sparklers & champagne- a true new year's moment. New Year's day was filled with lots of movies on the couch, a New York City skyline, and some of the best brick oven pizza from Roberta's. I went to Maman the next day, a cafe and bakery in SoHo serving recipes from from the south of france and north america. I'm still beating myself up for not trying the lavender hot chocolate, but I needed a coffee boost.

At home I went to Beacon and had breakfast & visited Dia, which will forever be one of my favorite spots. I spent too much time with Olive, saw friends from high school, and watched more movies (yes).

2015 is looking pretty good so far, wouldn't you say?
