SUMMER SOLSTICE

Happy summer, everyone !! My summer solstice weekend: there was strolling through Boston Common, laying in the grass, going to Cambridge for Harvard's summer solstice celebration, live music outside, summer drinks, making flower crowns, plant life, rocks and minerals, SOWA Sundays, and finally checking out Jamaica Pond. Rowboats at sunset- it was a magical weekend.

JP

This Thursday was good. I really like my new hood. I stumbled across 'Thursdays on the Lawn' which was a farmer's market + food trucks + tons of people + laying in the grass. Right by my place! I also found a crazy cool gallery/artist boutique/photo book place that I am now in love with. I guess I'm not used to having these neat-o events & places *RIGHT* at my fingertips since my hometown didn't exactly offer...anything...like this. I'd almost always have to venture to nearby towns to do something fun. It's different now. Especially being in a city. I don't think it's hit me yet. On to fun new adventure, folks! Plenty o' sunshine and places to see!

JOIN THE PARTY

June is in FULL FORCE. Tomorrow is supposed to be 84 here and then 88!! I will melt. Anyway, this post is a bit miscellaneous, but mostly Cambridge. Sunday morning: wake up, throw dress on, eat delicious brunch at the friendly toast (totally going back), make way to the rooftop garden, lay in the grass and soak in the sun, nick falls asleep, light snoring, blue skies, eventually get up (this is very difficult), go to get coffee at Tatte for fuel, go to Inman square, look at zines, get blueberry sorbet, record store, walk walk walk. And now it's Monday- a new week- reaaaaaaaadddddddy!

BOSTON SUMMER

Apologies for the huge post, but I've been busy busy busy this past week and a half. Although I don't think it's officially summer, it certainly feels like it. Dewy faces and light weight clothes everywhere. My first week in Boston was exhausting. Mostly because there was SO much cleaning and putting everything together to do. The place STILL isn't finished. The hardwood floors haven't seen what feels like YEARS of cleaning, but we're working on it. The apartment itself is open and airy with a huge deck (yay), a ton of windows, and old pretty exposed radiators. I never usually turn on the lights during the day because we get so much natural light (yay again)! We live on the second floor with people below and above us. So far so good. We've been exploring my new neighborhood (hey, jamaica plain/JP) and I'm really starting to love it. There's a lot of options to shop local, which I love, and a lot of restaurants to try on the oh so busy and bustling Centre Street. The subway or T (still gunna call it the subway) is about a 5 minute walk from my apartment so easy access to explorin isn't a worry. Don't know how it's already Wednesday (?!?) but I plan on spending the rest of the week working on the good ole resume and applying to jobs... and then hopefully celebrating it up this weekend.

Thinking about doing an apartment tour post once everything is set, yah??! Also finished binge watching orange is the new black last night :'( I want more!! Until next time, peeps!
