STYLE INSPIRATION

Newsflash: I'm smitten and totally inspired by women from the 60's and 70's. The outfits, the shoes, the accessories, the hair, and the makeup. This image of Jane Fonda is everything and more. It should come as no surprise when I tell you that I almost bought everything in sight from 40 South St. today... (an amaziiiing vintage shop located a hop skip and a jump from my place!) I think I'll be going back for more soon. For now I'll be looking over these images for inspiration.

A WEEKEND AT HOME

A weekend at home surrounded by the Hudson river, mountains, and some of my favorite people & places. Sometimes you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city... and sometimes all you need is a coffee from the shop next to the local farm stand & a breathtaking view to take in. I spent my Friday afternoon running around Cold Spring in the most amazing plaid skirt from eShakti. A plaid skirt that's perfect for roaming around vintage shops, eating strawberry rhubarb jam on toast, and shopping away in the apothecary. Pockets, a stretchy waistband, and perfect for Fall. It's simple. eShakti is ALL about customization. They believe that customized clothing CAN be affordable and stylish. SO, I was super excited when they contacted me and asked to try out their product. I chose this skirt (because plaid, duh), got to enter in all my specific measurements, and boom! It fit perfectly.

FALL IS HERE

It's here, it's here! Fall is here! I love everything about this time- the crisp air, the smells, sweaters, boots, knit socks, the food (HOT APPLE CIDER!!), and EVERYTHING in between. I can't help but to think about Ithaca and that 'going back to school' feeling when September hits. Ah, nostalgia. Instead of classes, I've been spending my time moving into a new apartment, decorating, and doing the daily grind of life. Working at two different museums and enjoying all of what Boston has to offer. I have also been feeling QUITE homesick these past couple of days- which is actually perfect timing because I'm going home this weekend! I MISS YOU HUDSON VALLEY. Cold Spring, Hudson, Beacon, NYC etc etc I miss you sooooooo.

WELCOMING SEPTEMBER

Happy September! Lately, all I can think about are candles and robes. I think my robe obsession has been fueled by Mad Men (currently watching). Aren't these pretty ones from Anthropologie to die for?! I have to get my hands on one of them. I'm also trying to switch to an all natural skincare routine (slowly but surely). So far I've tried products from the ever so photogenic Follain in the south end. I'm definitely going to splurge on the argan oil and apple cider vinegar based toner. In love!
